Philly, je te déteste
Proposal by,
Jere Paolini
Synopsis: In the vein of Paris, je t’aime and New York, I Love You; Philly, je te déteste is a feature film comprised of a succession of short films, each created by a different filmmaker/group of filmmakers.
Like these films, Philly, je te déteste will highlight a different aspect, neighborhood or character of our city. But unlike these other films—with each short a variation on a love story—we will put a decidedly Philadelphian spin on the paradigm: each film will be a variation on a “hate story,” and highlight Philadelphia’s infamous inferiority complex.
Filmmakers: We will scour Philadelphia to find the best and the brightest filmmakers. Any and all local filmmakers can apply to be part of this project by sending resumes and/or links to reels or examples of past work to jereMIAD™ Films at jerepproductions@gmail.com .
Structure: Philly, je te déteste will be the umbrella title for the project as a whole and the resulting feature film. Each comprising short will be titled by the creators and labeled cleanly, sans opening or closing credits, with a simple title plate in the lower third giving the short’s title and director.
Each short will be created entirely on its own, using a separate cast and crew. However, every film’s concept will be agreed upon and work-shopped as a collective. We will develop each story and script, assuring that we cover a representative array of subjects and styles, and establishing a flow, pace and timeline for each short and the project as a whole.
Production: Philly, je te déteste is a production of jereMIAD™ Films (part of JerePproductions) and will be billed as such. However, productions credits for each short will be given in the closing credits of the feature.
Each short will have a minimum and maximum time limit, contingent upon the total number of films being made, with the completed feature film clocking in at no less than 90 minutes and no more than 120.
The whole group will meet regularly to discuss the films’ progress, watch dailies, critique etc.
Once every short is completed, they will be edited into a cohesive feature film, marketed, and released by jereMIAD™ Films.
It is our goal to achieve artistic as well as critical and even commercial success. To this end a premium will be placed on unique and well developed stories and high production value. Philly, je te déteste will be entered for consideration into film festivals large and small.
Any proceeds will be divided evenly between each team, after all costs incurred by jereMIAD™ Films in the production and promotion of the feature are offset.
